The Center for Information Resilience and Integrity Studies, Inc. (CIRIS) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through ciris.org.ph, why we collect it, how long we keep it, who we share it with, and the rights you have under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173).
Who we are
CIRIS is based at 3002B Tektite Towers, Ortigas Center, Pasig City, Philippines.
Our privacy contact is Christopher Balagtas, Deputy Executive Director. You can reach him at christopher.balagtas@ciris.org.ph for any question or request about your personal information.
What we collect
We collect personal information only when you choose to give it to us, and a limited amount of usage data when you visit the site.

Your name, your email, how you would like to help, and any note you add.
When you subscribe to our newsletter
Your email address.
When you email us
Whatever you choose to include in your message.
When you browse the site
We use Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel to understand how the site is used and how our campaigns perform. These tools use cookies and similar technologies to record things like the pages you visit, the link or campaign that brought you here, your device and browser type, and your approximate location. They do not give us your name. These tools only run if you accept them in the cookie banner. If you decline, the site works the same.
Why we collect it
- To assess and study reported content, and to publish research and briefs on information operations.
- To verify a report with you, if you gave us your contact details.
- To reply when you write to us or ask to get involved.
- To send the newsletter you subscribed to.
- To understand how the site is used and to measure our public campaigns.
We process the information you submit on the basis of your consent, which you give when you send a form. You can withdraw it at any time by writing to us. We use Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel only with the consent you give in the cookie banner.
How long we keep it
- Reports: we may keep the substance of a report indefinitely for research and briefs.
- Contact details given with a report: kept only to verify the report with you, and deleted after six months.
- Get Involved submissions: six months.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe, using the link in any newsletter email.
- Usage data: 14 months, the retention period set in Google Analytics.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information.
The substance of reports, without your contact details, may be shared with government agencies, researchers and media organizations working on information integrity, as part of CIRIS's research and briefs. We never share your contact details.
Some services process data for us to run the site: Webflow (website hosting and the Get Involved form), Tally (the report form), Google (analytics and email), and Meta (the Meta Pixel). If CIRIS adds a newsletter service, we will name it here. Some of these services store data outside the Philippines.
Your rights
Under the Data Privacy Act you have the right to be informed, to access your personal information, to object, to have it corrected, to have it erased or blocked, to data portability, to damages, and to file a complaint with the National Privacy Commission (privacy.gov.ph).
To use any of these rights, write to christopher.balagtas@ciris.org.ph. To withdraw a report or to ask us to delete the contact details you gave with one, write to disinfo.watch@ciris.org.ph. We will reply within 15 working days.
Reporting anonymously
You do not need to give your name or contact details to report content. We study anonymous reports the same way, but we cannot follow up with you or tell you what came of them.
How we protect it
The site uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Only authorized CIRIS staff can see what you submit, and the services we use keep their own security measures.
Changes to this policy
We will post any change on this page and update the effective date at the top.
